Before you share something personal

Here is what to know about your account, your conversation, and SHIFT’s boundaries before you begin.

Privacy at a glance

  • Your SHIFT conversations are private to your account. Other participants cannot open them.
  • Account support does not give the app owner access to your private SHIFT conversations, messages, reports, or voice transcripts.
  • You can permanently delete your account and everything in it yourself, whenever you want.

Is SHIFT therapy?

No. SHIFT is not therapy, diagnosis, medical care, or crisis treatment, and it is not a substitute for any of them.

It's a thinking tool: it helps you organize your thoughts, carry less at once, reflect, find words for something, and identify a manageable next step. It will not diagnose you or decide for you.

What happens if I share something that suggests I may be in immediate danger?

If what you write indicates immediate danger or that you may not be able to stay safe, SHIFT stops the normal guided flow for that moment and shows support and crisis resources instead.

SHIFT is not an emergency service and cannot contact anyone for you. If you are in danger right now, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

What information does SHIFT store?

Your account: your email address, the name you chose to be called if you gave one, and the dates your account was created and updated.

Your SHIFT conversations: each conversation, the messages in it, the step it reached, and any draft you left in the message box, so you can come back to it.

Operational records: timing, cost, and similar technical details about each AI reply and about how the app is running. These records do not contain the text of your conversations.

A SHIFT Report is written fresh when you ask for it and is not saved. Anything you print or save as a PDF is a file on your own device.

Who can see my SHIFT conversations?

You can, when you're signed in to your account. Other participants cannot — the database only ever returns your own conversations to you.

The AI part is not magic: when you send a message, recent text from that conversation is sent securely to an AI provider so a reply can be written. Your name, email, and account details are not sent with it. We can't promise what that provider keeps on their side, so keep confidential detail out — describe roles instead of names.

Can the app owner or administrator read my SHIFT conversations?

No feature gives the owner access to your conversations, messages, drafts, SHIFT Reports, or voice transcripts. The owner's view shows aggregate numbers — how much the app is being used and what it costs — with no conversation content.

There is one owner-only support tool for account problems. It can show account details such as an email address, the name on the account, when it was created, and whether the email is verified — the information needed to help someone who can't sign in. It deliberately cannot reach conversations, messages, reports, voice transcripts, or private safety details.

We won't tell you nobody can ever see anything. We'll tell you exactly what the tooling does and doesn't reach.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes, yourself, from Account & privacy inside the app. You'll see exactly what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and then your account, sign-in, every conversation including archived and completed ones, everything you wrote, every reply SHIFT gave you, your drafts, and your name and email are deleted.

This cannot be undone. Nothing is kept for later recovery, and no one — including the app owner — can restore it for you.

Signing out does not delete anything; it just ends the session on that device. Files you printed or saved yourself stay on your device.
